Diagnostic Imaging

QMC patients have access to some of the most advanced imaging equipment available, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), advanced Positron Emission Tomography/Computer Tomography or PET/CT Scanning.  In addition, our Vascular Laboratory is a multidisciplinary service offering leading edge, non-invasive diagnosis of vascular disorders.

These state-of-the-art imaging devices allow doctors to diagnose patients in a timely and effective manner.

Clinical oversight and reporting of diagnostic imaging services at QMC are performed by a team of medical professionals including members of Quincy Medical Center and the Boston University Radiology Associates.  QMC’s Chief of Radiology leads a team of Board Certified, fellowship-trained radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians skilled in musculoskeletal imaging, PET/CT imaging, neuroradiology, interventional radiology and diagnostic angiography.

The Simon C. Fireman Imaging Center for Women provides another service for the community and was created to offer women a comfortable, private atmosphere in which to undergo testing such as mammography, ultrasound and bone densitometry. Mammograms are reviewed by board-certified radiologists who specialize in women's imaging studies, and in most cases results are provided before patients leave QMC.
